3περὶ τῶν ἀρχαιρεσιῶν συναχθείσης, ἐπι–
4στατοῦντος Καλλισσθένους τοῦ Τιμοσ–
5σθένους·  vac. ἔδοξε τῶι δήμωι, Μέ<λ>ανθος Ἐμ–
6πρέποντος εἶπεν· ὑπὲρ ὧν προεγράψατο Ἀλ–
7κιάδης Μόλπου, ὅπως Φί<λ>ιστος Νικάρχου
8Κῶιος ἰατρὸς χρείας παρεσσχημένος πλεί–
9οσι τῶν πολιτῶν ἐπαινεθῆι καὶ στεφανωθῆι,
10καθότι ἂν τῆι βουλῆι καὶ τῶι δήμωι δόξηι, καὶ
11προξενία αὐτῶι δοθῆι· vacat ἐπειδὴ Φίλισ–
12τος Νικάρχου Κῶ̣ιος ἰατρὸς ὢν πᾶσαν χρείαν
13διατελεῖ π[αρεχόμενο]ς̣ κατὰ τὴν ἰατρικὴν
14τέχνην κα̣[ὶ πλείονας τ]ῶν πολιτῶν ἐπιδη–
15μήσαντα̣[ς ἐγ Κῶι, τοὺς] μὲν κατὰ θεωρίαν

17δὲ καθ᾿ ἱδία[ν εἰς Κῶ παραγε]ν̣ομένους, ἐμ–
18πεσόντας [εἰς ἀρρωστίας ἐπικι]ν̣δύνους
19διέσωισεν [μετὰ πάσης φιλοτιμί]ας,  vac.
20τοῖς τε ἄλλο[ις τοῖς παραγινομένοις] τῶν
21πολιτῶν εἰς Κῶ π̣[ολλὰς παρέχεται χρεί]ας,
22οὐθὲν ἐλ<λ>είπων π[ροθυμίας τὰ καλῶς ἔ]χον–
23τα συγκατασκευάζ[ειν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἀε]ὶ ὑπα–
24κούων εἰς πᾶν περὶ ὧν ἄν τι̣ς̣ [αὐτὸ]ν̣ παρα–
25καλῆι· ὅπως οὖν καὶ ἡμεῖς φαινώμεθα τοῖς
26προαιρουμένοις εὐεργετεῖν ἡμᾶς καταξίαν
27ἀποδιδόντες χάριν, ἐπαινέσαι μὲν Φίλισ–
28τον Νικάρχου Κῶιον καὶ στεφανῶσαι αὐτὸν

1Unter dem Gott - - -, im (Monat) Apatourion,
2am dreizehnten, die Volksversammlung war gesetzmäßig
3zu den Beamtenwahlen versammelt, den
4Vorsitz hatte Kallisthenes S.d. Timos-
5thenes. Beschluss des Volkes, Melanthos
6S.d. Emprepon stellte den Antrag: Worüber schriftlich beantragte
7Alkiades S.d. Molpos, dass Philistos S.d. Nikarchos
8aus Kos, der als Arzt zahlreichen Bürgern
9Hilfe erwiesen hat, belobigt und bekränzt werde,
10wie es Rat und Volk beschließen, und
11ihm die Proxenie gegeben werde: Da Philis-
12tos S.d. Nikarchos aus Kos als Arzt stets alle Hilfe
13erweist gemäß der ärztlichen
14Kunst und zahlreichen Bürgern, die sich
15auf Kos aufhielten - die einen als Festgesandte
16vom Volk ausgeschickt, die anderen
17aus privaten Gründen nach Kos gekommen -
18und sich gefährliche Krankheiten zugezogen hatten,
19mit allem Ehrgeiz errettete
20und auch den anderen Bürgern, die
21nach Kos kommen, viel Hilfe erweist
22und es nicht an Eifer fehlen lässt, ihnen
23Annehmlichkeiten zu verschaffen, und sich stets
24um alles kümmert, worum auch immer ihn einer
25bittet; - damit nun auch wir in sichtbarer Weise den-
26jenigen, die uns Wohltaten zu erweisen planen, angemessenen
27Dank abstatten, (möge man beschließen): dass man belobige Philis-
28tos S.d. Nikarchos aus Kos und ihn bekränze
29mit goldenem Kranz bei den Dionysien an den Tragödienaufführungen

5thenes, it was decreed by the people, Melanthos son
6of Emprepon proposed: concerning the item drafted by
7Alkiades son of Molpos, that Philistos son of Nikarchos,
8Koan, who as physician supplied the needs of
9a great many citizens, should be praised and crowned
10as the council and people may decide, and
11proxeny be given to him: inasmuch as Philis-
12tos son of Nikarchos, Koan, as physician acts to supply every need
13in keeping with his medical
14craft and has with all public spirit saved a great many citizens
15who visited Kos, some sent
16by the people
17on a theoric mission, others
18who went to Kos privately, who
19fell into serious illnesses,
20and for others of the citizens who
21came to Kos he supplies many needs,
22omitting nothing in his eagerness to arrange 
23what is good for them and always attentive
24in every way to what anyone might ask of
25him; so that therefor we may be manifest
26rendering worthy thanks to those who incline to 
27benefit us: to praise Philis-
28tos son of Nikarchos, Koan, and crown him
29with a gold crown at the tragedy contest of the Dionysia
